September Check-In: Preparing for Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Season

ree

As we step into September, the Marjorie Nuckols Group knows that many Texans are starting to think about important decisions ahead—especially when it comes to Medicare coverage. While the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) doesn’t officially begin until October 15th, September is the ideal month to prepare.

Why September Matters for Medicare Planning

  • Review Your Current CoverageTake time this month to review how your current plan has worked for you this year. Are your prescriptions still covered affordably? Have your healthcare needs changed?

  • Watch for ChangesEach fall, Medicare plans release updated information about premiums, benefits, and drug formularies. Reviewing these changes early can help you avoid surprises.

  • Plan AheadBy September, you don’t need to make decisions just yet—but you should start gathering the information you’ll need. Think of this month as your preparation window before AEP opens.

Key Dates to Remember

  • October 1st – New plan information for 2025 becomes available.

  • October 15th – December 7th – Annual Enrollment Period (AEP). This is when you can make changes to your Medicare Advantage or Part D prescription drug plans.

  • January 1st, 2025 – New coverage takes effect.

How We Can Help

At the Marjorie Nuckols Group, our role is to educate and guide you through the process—not to pressure you into a plan. September is the perfect time to schedule a conversation so that when October 15th arrives, you feel prepared and confident.
